"This is a lovely hotel, excellent in every way except one disappointing aspect. The main restaurant which covers breakfast - good and dinner which is not good. Breakfast was well set up, plenty of food choice and organised, staff were busy, efficient and friendly, but the dinner service was not an enjoyable part of our stay. The staff were not enjoying their work, it felt like they wanted us to eat quickly and go - our main course arrived just before we had finished our starters, the food was ok. It would also be more enjoyable if the dining area was more welcoming, it was like a canteen, ok for breakfast but it might attract more business if lighting wasn’t so bright. We opted for simple room service the following evening, because we both felt that the dining room experience offered in the à la carte restaurant was not up to the standard of a 4 star hotel.
The staff in the rest of the hotel couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Our room had been upgraded, it was very well appointed and comfortable. The pool bar which serves food as well is a much more enjoyable experience and the pool areas were beautifully kept, definitely a special place."
