Top Great Alpine Road Hotel Reviews

Hotel Riva Art & Spa

10/10 Excellent

"Staff on duty was no help at all re: bus to Nice airport, but we happily sorted it out. That bus stops on the street above the hotel, perfect. We had a decent sized balcony facing street, not as interesting as beach side but nice to sit out. Bed, pillows and linen were great. Easy walk to shopping and restaurants area. Very nice to walk along the boardwalk. Make use of the common lounge area on 4th floor and up a narrow stairwell. Gorgeous and calming."

Best Western Premier Hotel Prince De Galles

10/10 Excellent

"Lots to like about this hotel. The staff were great, hotel and rooms were spotlessly clean and the bed extremely comfortable. Coffee maker , kettle , tea, coffee and a small free mini bar are very nice extras as well as a coffee and cakes available every afternoon in reception. The breakfast was extra but good value. We had a room with a balcony / sea view which was lovely- it's just very noisy sitting out as the hotel is on the main road . With the windows shut however you can hardly hear any noise . Parking is provided at a cost ( 25 euros per day on site or 15 euros in a secure car park 5 minutes walk away)- I think you would need to pre book in high season. The hotel is just on the outskirts of Menton so a mile to the Centre and maybe 2 miles to the old town which is lovely. Lots of restaurants in the centre and on the promenade along the route. We enjoyed l'avenue in particular. The only slight issue we had was that the room smelled of cigarette smoke on arrival - the staff thought it may be due to people smoking on nearby balconies? It wasn't pleasant but the staff offered sprays for the room etc and it faded after a few days but as smoking is allowed on balconies , if people leave doors open it may drift into the room. The hairdryer is also rubbish so if you need one I would take your own. Again the very helpful staff lent me one for a few days. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it ."

Hôtel Les Muses

8/10 Good

"A rocky start, but an absolutely wonderful recovery! Hôtel des Muses has a fantastic location directly across from beautiful Lake Annecy, in a peaceful area just a short walk from charming shops and restaurants. The secure gated parking is another excellent advantage. Our stay began with some disappointment: the annex room was dated, did not offer the promised partial lake view, and had maintenance issues, including nonfunctioning AC and plumbing problems. It was not what we expected from a superior room. Since we were staying for 2 more nights, after enjoying the nice breakfast buffet, we visited the front desk: the hotel team responded with genuine care and professionalism. Two wonderful staff members listened to our concerns and arranged an upgrade to a beautifully renovated room with a partial lake view and a lovely outdoor space, it completely transformed our experience. Although the hotel could benefit from minor improvements to outdoor maintenance, basic amenities, and older rooms, we truly enjoyed the remainder of our stay. We are especially grateful to the team for listening, taking action, and helping us enjoy our time in Annecy. Thank you for turning a disappointing beginning into a memorable and enjoyable stay. With a little more attention to detail, Hôtel des Muses could be truly exceptional!"

Comfort Aparthotel Les Hauts d'Annecy

8/10 Good

"Good property in Annecy. However, the unit was much smaller than on the pictures. It doesn’t have ac, be aware if you travel in the summer. Very basic. Located far from the centre, so a lot of walking or using bus plus walking. Not expensive compared to more central properties. Secured parking."
