"Gulf View does indeed have a view of the Gulf, from public areas, but there's hardly any shade on the shore or at the pool to escape the full sun at either.
Our room was clean and comfortable but it was like a bachelor uncle room above the garage. The approach ramp and adjacent deck were very worn, with springy boards and protruding nails.
At check-in, we were left waiting several minutes after ringing the bell then being told to wait some more, while she carried on personal conversations leaving us waiting, only to be processed coldly (same with check-out). Shower and on-site parking were fine. The only ice option was purchasing a $3 bag (and another long rude wait) that far exceeded what we wanted or needed.
Gulf View should have been a more enjoyable experience than it was. It was clean and relatively quiet (couldn't hear nearby highway traffic when indoors), but we wouldn't stay there again."
