"There is absolutely NO airflow in the rooms. They are designed to keep you warm, not cool. The still air was about 77F and unfortunately I am one of those travelers who needs either cool OR moving air (ie a fan blowing) otherwise I get very nauseous at night. I ended up getting sick and am still paying the price 3 days later as my vocal cords have not yet healed (no I was not drunk, this is a thing for some people when the body can’t expel heat). It is a great place for you if you do not mind still air, because the rest of the experience was exactly what we paid for."

"On our trip to Europe which included eight different countries, this was by far the BEST hotel we stayed in! While the parking was less than desirable, Daniel at the reception was kind and helpful in recommending public parking near the hotel for us. The room was amazing, the breakfast which was included, was the best we had in Europe and the location was very convenient to the old town and the train station. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Switzerland."

"Good and clean place. But check-in was long and difficult it is done completed by computer and as it was not obvious how to switch from German to English to answer all the questions."

"Very easy check in, everything could be done straight from my phone. Our room had a beautiful view of the mountains, it was very quiet apart from being woken up by the church bells at 5 am but this is expected in many Swiss towns and villages."

"The most uncomfortable accommodations but inexpensive Appenzell you can’t be picky if you’re on a budget. The room, including the en suite bathroom is no bigger than a standard American bathroom, airless, windowless, and claustrophobic. We did not sleep, no air quality controls. However, the establishment is charming, the breakfast was ample and the staff is ultra kind and the hotel\restaurant is a five minute walk from the train station and superbly located- loved Appenzell and the surrounding outdoor activities that’s for sure."

Would stay here again a hundred times over. They were super responsive and helpful with every question I have. Great location to boot!"

"Staff at reception great and super helpful. I was in a room that hadn’t been renovated for quite a while but everything was clean. Old school power sockets and not enough of them and no black out blinds or curtains. Super friendly and clean but simple and my room in need of renovation. I’d still stay there again as it’s such a great location and cost effective as well as a lovely lady on reception who couldn’t be more helpful. Thank you! "
