"I booked/was charged for a premium/superior ocean view king bed room, but my view was the backside of the hotel restaurant, restaurant garbage, and the facility golf cart with a ladder and tools scattered about. At best, I would call the first level rooms in the lower 100s, a partial ocean view and would have expected them to be priced as such. The room smelled like wet dog, the carpet/flooring was damp by the air conditioner, the shower had mold/mildew along the corners, the walls need to be repainted as there are black scuff marks in various areas, and pest control needs to be considered since we had a variety of bugs and spiders that we chased out of our room each day of our stay. On a positive note, the staff was friendly and they do offer free bike rental for 2hrs each day. I expected a better experience from a property marketed as a “resort” so I would not recommend this property to others nor do I plan to stay here for any future trips. "

"So this hotel has 9.0 rating for some reason, and yes location staff and how clean a room is 10. But everything else is 5.0 including breakfast, room condition and design , sounds coming from neighboring rooms and street all those things are 5.0"

"Staff was friendly and the food was excellent in the restaurants. Bar was woefully under-staffed in the evenings. Beds were comfortable and ocean view decks were sheltered from the wind and of a nice size."

"We went to Jekyll Island for a Sisters Week and Hampton Inn did not disappoint! As soon as you stepped into the lobby, you could feel the warmth and friendliness. Every single staff member greeted us and we even developed friendships while there. The room was spacious and very clean. The pool was always attended to and it was an excellent temperature. The breakfast had lots to offer and the boardwalk to the beach was one of our favorite spots. James, the manager, gave us lots of places to explore while on the island and he was such a pleasant person to talk to. We just loved being here and want to come back."

"I had not been informed that the building was under construction. There was a jackhammer going non stop. The shower did not get hot and it whistled. The light in the bathroom was super dim and with the shower curtain closed it was dark. The floor was as dirty. I stayed here about 10 years ago and it was great. Sad to see it so rundown."
