Norwalk Inn & Conference Center

"Had a lovely four -night stay at the Norwalk Inn and Conference Center. The front desk was wonderful and obviously trained in attentive customer service. The room with two queen sized beds was very clean ,up to date ,and decorated in what I would call a colonial style. The room had everything one could need including a refrigerator ,a microwave ,and a Keurig coffee maker. The air conditioning worked very well and ,of particular note, did not blow directly on the desk or the beds. While small, the bathroom was new and clean with abundant hot water and nice toiletries. I particularly appreciated the grab bar that was available in the shower. There was no safe in the room, and so I did not have housekeeping come ,although they are willing to come daily. I just got my new coffee pods at the front desk. The ice machine is located on the lobby floor ,away from people who are trying to sleep. There is an outdoor salt -water pool, which I did not try; It only costs $8 for your entire stay for the pool and pool towels. I am told it is refreshing in June and very warm in August as the water is heated only by the sun. There is plenty of parking even when they are having a conference. There is a lovely neighborhood of homes just adjacent to the Inn where one can take safe morning or evening walks. The Inn is less than half a mile from Stew Leonards, a famous grocery store. It is also convenient to I-95 and the Merritt Parkway. Felt very safe , and the room door had a steel bolt ."

"Staff incredible. Got stuck in elevator. The next day only 1 out of 3 were even functioning. Indoor pool GREEN. Weedy outside. Very soft beds for sleeping. Great breakfast buffet, but pricey. Yummy dinner options! Again, no better staff around, just please, please fix your elevators!!! ."

"Convenient location for me in downtown Stamford. Checking in was simple, and my room was ready for me when I arrived. The parking garage can become very full at times, making it difficult to park. There is additional parking across the street, but that’s not convenient (or safe) when coming back to the hotel very late. The room was clean, and the shower was exceptional with a waterfall shower head. The lobby, hallways and common areas could use some sprucing up. The bed was not comfortable, but for one night, it was fine. Recommended for a short stay."

"The hotel was fine overall, but to be honest it’s a bit dated and under-maintained. We arrived around 8:30pm and there was only one person at the front desk, so despite having already checked in via the app it took quite a while to get our keys. Similarly, there was only one very confused employee running the coffee shop in the morning (he was wearing a full suit and didn’t seem to be a usual coffee shop staff member). The ice machine didn’t work, the shower had two bottles of body wash and no shampoo, the paint was peeling. So just not really up to usual Doubletree standards. That said, the bed was comfortable and we only needed it for one night, so it wasn’t the end of the world."

"Inexpensive clean, not the most glamorous place, but for the price it was appropriate. I would go back again and I would recommend for someone who is looking for something within their budget. Staff was friendly as well thank you."
