"This was a goof one night stopover on the Cabot Trail. We were traveling with our two Goldendoodles so it was convenient in the back ground floor unit to go in and out. The room was clean and neat with fancy embroidered towels and bed linens which felt out of place as the room itself is dated. The grounds were nice for a walk to the beach ."

"Great location! Friendly staff. Best water pressure in a shower ever! My only reason for 4 stars is the bed. Could have been a bit more comfortable, but still managed a great nights sleep!"

"The staff were friendly with a great local knowledge. The rooms and the grounds were impeccable. There was a lovely path on the property that followed a small river great for a small hike. I would recommend this establishment in a heartbeat."

"We had an amazing stay here, for one night, as we traversed the Cabot Trail. Staff were awesome and the breakfast was the best we’ve had in a hotel in a long, long time. So many choices, cooked hot and brought to the buffet in a steady stream. A terrific variety of tea, plus coffee. One note: many of the rooms are up one floor and there is no elevator, so if stairs are a consideration for you, ask for a main-floor room. Would 10/10 stay here again!"
Blue Bayou Resort

"This was everything we hoped it would be. Unique, private, clean, well equipped as it should be and convenient to the North coast for all the beauty and wilderness it has to offer. Everything worked except for the weather which no one can control. When I come back to Cape Breton, I will be booking Blue Bayou again and well in advance since it will soon be a must for thousands of Cabot Trail visitors throughout the season."
