"If you know me, you know I love to explore places that *might* have ghosts, so when the chance to stay at a hotel built in the late 1800's presents itself, I take it. Every time, without question. The Decker may not be haunted, but it is like stepping into the past. The plush red carpet, old wooden details, and Tiffany style lamps accenting the staircase all transport you back to another time. If you ever find yourself in Maquoketa, IA, check out The Decker; it won't disappoint."

"Our room was clean and comfortable. It was a nice location for visiting the Maquoketa Caves. The hot tub was not working while we were there which would have been nice after our hike. Overall, a nice comfortable place to stay."

"This is an absolutely amazing property. The pictures were perfect. The location was perfect. The host, perfect. If youre looking for an adorable cabin right outside an adorable old world town, this is the spot. The cabin is fully stocked with everything you really need. Head into town and get your groceries and firewood at the charming small town grocery store. I will definitely be going back here in the future+ "
