"Pool AND hot tub under maintenance during our 11 night stay! Toilet TOO LOW in King Suite room, and as usual, all accessible rooms were already taken! We had to buy a toilet hand rail from Amazon just to get off the toilet since they were so low! Room was okay. Price too high for the amount of nights we stayed. Breakfast was poor and they closed it down before breakfast ended a couple of times, or they ran out of something."

"When you compare hotels in the same area sleep inn was the best for the same money. There is also a breakfast of sorts that saved me from having to spend $20 on breakfast every day. Staff is great and everyone seems to be happy working there. It' no kore than the motel 6 up the road a few blocks and much better facilities. I recommend it without hesitation."

"WARNING: Save Your Money — Major Decline in Quality and Safety Concerns I have stayed at The Academy Hotel in Colorado Springs many times over the years and always had good experiences. This stay on May 23, 2026 was extremely disappointing. The property was not well maintained. Outside trash cans were overflowing, common areas were dirty, and hallways had stains and trash bags left out. Our room was mostly clean but had sheets with visible holes, which is unacceptable for the price. The most serious issue was safety. Our room door would not reliably lock due to key card system failures, and other guests had the same issue and were guarding their rooms. The bar food and service were good, but the breakfast was horrible and a major downgrade from past stays. The hotel appeared severely understaffed and poorly managed. At checkout I requested to speak with management about the safety issue and asked for a partial refund but never received a follow-up. 1 star only because Carolyn at the front desk stayed professional and handled a very difficult situation well."

"The staff was very friendly and helpful. The suite was a very good value for the money. My only con was the remote control for the TV. Even after changing the batteries out, it was not functioning properly and since we were only staying for 2 nights, it wasn't worth the trouble of complaining about it. They do have on site laundry, which is super convenient. I would stay here again."
