"SUPER SKETCHY - STAY AWAY!!! I booked this hotel for my son and my nephew for a last minute visit to Madison and unfortunately didn't read reviews before doing so. I had called prior to arrival to request an early check in, but they were unable to accommodate. I asked specifically if they could get in their room if they returned very late, and was told they could as the front desk is staffed 24 hours. When they arrived, they checked on their room & were told they couldn't check in at 2am and would have to come back to check in or their room would be given away. So, back and forth to downtown & more in Uber $$. While the room appeared clean, the entire hotel stank of cigarettes. Their Uber driver said he almost didn't accept the fare because it's usually only prostitutes that request them from that hotel. A homeless man in front of the hotel asked them what they were doing there and said it was sketchy. When they returned at 2am, their door was open and their bags were missing. They ensured no one was in their room and went to sleep. At 8am they received a call asking if they were supposed to be in that room. The were told they gave them the wrong room and had come and taken their bags out of it. They did get them back before leaving. There's more but I'm out of space.... RUN THE OTHER WAY! No idea how ANYONE could give this a good review. While they aren't seeing any signs, Google has reports of bed bugs. Taking precautions to be safe."

"Beautiful resort. Gorgeous setting and rooms. Especially enjoyed 1878 restaurant and bar setting looking out over the lake. Observed outdoor wedding and indoor venues…lovely."

"Clean property. Pool and hot tub were clean and well maintained. (Could use more pool towels.) Staff were friendly. Breakfast was in is own clean room, but it was disappointing. Scrambled eggs were horrible (this was the opinion of the guests at surrounding tables too). Biscuits & gravy was bland, biscuits were hard. No fruit at all."

"the stay was uneventful and the resort is nice. i arrived later at night, and it took me 20 minutes to find my room, enlisting middle of night maintenance workers to help find my way - they had difficulty too. there is very little signage. it was comical. the property is very large with lots of buildings and rooms. for expedia users, they charge a resort fee on top of the price you are booked in at. "
