The Beach House at Drifting Sands

"Upon arrival, I would have given 5 stars, because what’s not to love about being right on the beach! Well, what’s not to love is a noisy AC unit that wakes you up from a dead sleep when it turns back on in the middle of the night. That, and the lights were kept on outside the room all night which the curtains do not block out entirely. One final note - there were lots of noisy car races throughout the night, which, if the AC unit had the ability to stay running without going into energy-saving mode, then I think it would have drowned out the background noise. That was not the case. I believe I was in the “Efficiency house” which is to the left of the main property building. I plan to come back because the room was clean and the location can’t be beat, but I will try a different location within the property. If you are able to: 1) turn off the outside lights/get better curtains and 2) Get an AC unit that can run throughout the night to block out uncontrollable outside noises, THEN I would have no problem giving 5 stars!"

"We love this hotel! The staff is incredibly helpful, kind, and accommodating. We had booked two separate reservations due to extending our trip last minute and even though we had to check out and check back in, they made the process as easy as possible. Great views, clean, nice amenities and so reasonably priced for being right on the beach. Highly recommend!"

"Staff was super friendly and greeted you as you walked by, which made the stay feel welcoming. We arrived a few hours early and were allowed to check in, which was a huge plus. It’s the perfect place to stay if you have teenagers who love the boardwalk — you’re right in the middle of everything. I would definitely stay here again. The only issue we experienced was the AC unit. It worked, but it was extremely loud because the box it was sitting in was too big, so it rattled all night and made it tough to sleep. The TV also wasn’t working. I didn’t complain since we were out all day and only came back to shower and head out again, but when it was time to sleep, the noise from the AC was rough."

"The rooms were narrow and no space for putting clothes away. The restaurant was good and definitely liked free chairs for the beach, free bikes and boogie boards. The outdoor pool was small and for us we went to the beach which was very nice and convenient. The restaurant was good with a nice selection."
