"Winterstoke is a HUGE house with 4 massive double bedrooms and a large twin room. This does not feel like a holiday rental, it feels like a home. I have never stayed in a property that is so well appointed, every detail is covered. The quality of the house is really fantastic and incredibly comfortable. The back garden is lovely with a great area for entertaining, unfortunately it was freezing so we could not make use of it. We had a baby with us and the owner (sheila) had EVERYTHING...

"Great location on the beachfront. Well maintained property with clean rooms and the extras you would expect - safety deposit box, ironing board etc. I wasn't particularly impressed with the in house toiletries which seemed cheap. Staff were all friendly and helpful and parking was easy and included in the booking price. Breakfast was fine but a little underwhelming. There was a good but not extensive range on offer. The breakfast room itself was pleasant and calm. All in all a good hotel. Would happily return."

"We had a wonderful stay at the Grand Burstin Hotel in Folkestone. The location is perfect, the staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was clean and comfortable. The rooms are offered at a sensible price. Excellent value for money overall. Highly recommend for a relaxing short break!"

"We turned up the place was dirty the mens toilet was really dirty and smelt there was not air in reception and children kicking a ball did not stop as we was going from carpark there was dog poo been there a long time wished I have never paid up front stay away worse place and reception could not speak English"

"The hotel was central and not too far from the car park. However I have to say the bed was genuinely quite uncomfortable and the pillows disappeared when your head was on them. The breakfast was great and varied. Coffee wasn’t bad. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Nice stay for the beds could be much much better"

"I arrived and the lady over there told me they changed my room I don’t know why I’m coming with a 11 month old baby and my sister we slept in a small double bed with this heath. RIDICULOUS. I spoke to the manager mentioned what the lady told me and he act like nothing happened I felt useless. There’s no lift there, of course it’s lift there but they used it to keep their stuff?? I give one star because of the sea view from the premium double bedroom otherwise I will give half star. Obviously I’m not coming back here, waste of money!!!!!!!"

"I have stayed at the southcliff many times over the years and find it absolutely great for what I need. The staff are always friendly and helpful and made me feel welcome as always. A big thankyou to the lady on reception called Shiril who was very pleasant and helpful with an issue I had with the room so thankyou so much. I love the location of this hotel and the view looking out over the English channel and able to see France on a clear day. At the end of the day it's a budget hotel and like with everything you get what you pay for, but in all honesty it suits my needs and I usually stay for two or three nights. The only disadvantage is that they don't offer breakfast but not really an issue as plenty of cafes etc in the town which is literally round the corner. It's perfect for a short stay and to be fair you are out and about most of the time so a perfect base. I will certainly be returning in the not to distant future and would recommend this hotel. Oh and try and book a room with sea view as better than looking out over a carpark."
