"We stopped here overnight on the way to Puglia. Lovely seaside village, beautiful property, very clean. Breakfast was a bit disappointing - it's only croissant and coffee. If we knew that before turning up for breakfast, we would rather skip this offer and have proper breakfast elsewhere. However, there is communal kitchen available and a supermarket is just around the corner. "

"We stayed for just one night in the "Lu Magazzi". It was a beautiful room and looked like it had been very recently built. Everything was spotlessly clean and new. We enjoyed the breakfast with all the home produced products. We particularly loved the Torta di noci (Walnut cake). "When we arrived for our 5-night stay, personal issues only allowed for a 3-night stay. While we clearly understood the hotel's cancellation policy, hotel personnel Nicholas indicated any penalty would be waived at check-out for which we were incredibly thankful, so we proceeded to make our alternate plans. Unfortunately, the night before check-out we were advised we would need to pay for all 5 nights. We contacted Expedia who reached out to the hotel, but the penalty could not be waived as was clearly indicated at check-in by hotel personnel Nicholas. While Nicholas might have not had the authority to waive the penalty, we believe San Benedetto del Tronto Smeraldo should have honored what was conveyed at check-in. This disappointment obviously stained our stay at Smeraldo, making it very difficult to recommend this hotel going forward."
