"The hotel is situated in a wonderful location, with beautiful surroundings that made our stay particularly enjoyable. The breakfast was a little below our expectations, and some of the amenities could benefit from updating. However, these were minor issues, and overall we had a very pleasant stay and would happily return."

"The pictures online do not give Mangia Brucoli justice. It is more beautiful in person. Our room had Mt. Etna views that were breathtaking. We had breakfast included and wow it’s amazing. We visited the adult , kids pool and the beach. All were great. Ate in town (Brucoli) and had delicious meals. Strong recommendation!!!"

"We spent four nights in a Superior Triple Room, all-inclusive, and had an incredible time. The resort is vast, the food is incredible and the staff are very helpful. There is a genuine effort to offer food that is fresh, varied as well producing local delicacies. Although there is a shuttle bus frequently to Syracuse, we chose to spend all of our time within the resort alternating our time from the two wonderful pools and the beach. We would come back in a heartbeat and are interested in what other VOI resorts are available. It's worth noting that their season truly begins from 1st June meaning there are more activities from this date nevertheless we still enjoyed children's entertainment din late May despite their official season not starting quite yet. It's also worth noting that food and drink from the beach facility is excluded even if you have chosen all inclusive. 10/10 would go again!!!"

"This is a fabulous old style hotel brought up to date in a really good location for Ortigia. The rooftop restaurant and terrace have a beautiful view and breakfast has a very large choice and is very good. The staff are extremely attentive and all seem to have the freedom to chat to guests like human beings and not "5 star robots". A welcome change."

"Wonderful location in Ortigia. Our room had a small balcony overlooking the sea. We could hear the waves at night. Be aware that there is no elevator; reception is one flight of stairs above the street and rooms above that. The staff helped us bring our luggage upstairs, however. There is no parking at the hotel. The public lot is about 500 meters away and it’s €25 a day."

"We were a bit disappointed with our stay at Grand Hotel des Étrangers. While the hotel has been beautifully renovated and is in very good condition, it felt more like a generic luxury hotel and lacked the Sicilian character we were hoping for. The breakfast room also felt somewhat “hotel-like,” although the breakfast itself was delicious. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, and we especially loved the pool, which was heated to a very comfortable 28°C. The spa was also lovely, although it was frustrating that we were only told about the beautiful recovery room after our treatments were finished and we had already changed. The outdoor rooftop bar was lovely as well with comfy couches and a great view. There were a few downsides that made the stay feel overpriced for what we received. Parking at the hotel costs €50 per day, but we found the public Talete lot nearby for only €15. Our room was quite basic and very small, facing an alley where there was constant noise from dumpsters being emptied. For roughly $1,000 per night, we expected much more. Another issue was the loud music from the beach club on the ground floor, especially in the late afternoon and evening. We’re also not convinced it’s worth paying a premium for a sea-view upgrade, as the views over Siracusa are pleasant but not particularly spectacular. Overall, the hotel has some strong points, but for the price, we expected a more special and authentic experience."

"Wow, what a fantastic hotel. Super location for the Archeological Park & Museum. Rooms and amenities were great, the pool and sundeck perfect for a drink. Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was spectacular, everything you could want for a Sicilian breakfast. Rooms were modern and comfortable definitely a value for the price. "
