"For an older hotel the indoor pool was decent and the beds where comfortable"

"We’ve stayed at Driftwood Resport a number of times and usually have little issues. This time however I’m not sure what was going on. I think it may have been a shortage of staff but we tried to check in at 4 at check in time. We were told there were no rooms ready, to come back in a little bit. We tried 30 min later and were told the same thing. We decided to go get dinner and came back around 6pm and were still told the rooms were not ready and if we wanted to cancel we could as they didn’t know when one would be ready. Lucky while we were trying to decide what to do for a few minutes one popped up ready so we stayed. My other frustration was that the kids play area that is there is apparently now permanently closed. That wasn’t disclosed before hand. Lastly (this was probably just coincidental) but the pool door stopped opening but only from the inside. So we were stuck for a little inside the pool area until someone else entered. It looked like maintenance was trying to fix it by the time we left. My hope is this was all just a fluke but it was a frustrating experience. "

"Did not did not eat the breakfast or utilize the laundry service. The mattresses are Ted broke down, but most of upsetting was the fact that they don’t have handicapped rooms with no way to contact the hotel directly and the reservation service not saying anything about them not having them. I would not have booked this hotel as being handicapped. I need certain things that were not available to me. "

"Good location, ok room. Breakfast was disappointing. No fruit, limited choices. "

"The staff was very friendly and helpful. The kitchen was sparsely equipped but workable. There was no paper towels or napkins though. The room was clean and very nice. The only thing was that the towels and shampoo was not restocked during our stay."

"This is a quaint, homey family owned and operated (from what I could tell) motel. It is old, probably from the 60s, but very clean. The curtains looked like they had been carefully sewn most likely by the owner, and installed with nice pull backs. The tile in the bathroom was nicely installed, and the bathroom was very roomy. The sink had some cracks in it, and the toilet seat was worn, but everything was sparkling clean, and smelled clean. The grounds were thoughtfully groomed, and there were subtle decorations that are not present in corporate hotels. I absolutely loved staying here, and it was inexpensive too. I will stay here again whenever I visit Florence. "

"The only issue I had was minutes after I checked into our room, I started sneezing and smelling like there was mold. It is carpeted. The patio seemed scary to walk on to and run down. The patio door was difficult to open as I have back issues. The staff was very friendly. The free breakfast was good, but only have 4 tables. "
