If you come on holidays to Flekkefjord, you will get to spend your days shopping in its many boutiques, wandering around the cobblestone streets and enjoying the lovely wooden houses. You can also experience a variety of water sports, go rail biking or even visit the impressive grottos.

The town of Flekkefjord is located in the county of Vest-Agder on Norway’s southern coast. The town is famous for its whitewashed wooden houses and its romantic narrow streets. The town is located in the innermost part of the Lafjord, and over the years, its large harbour has sheltered countless ships and even many Dutch people.

Rixen Water Sports is based on Selura Lake just outside Flekkefjord. Here, you can go water-skiing, wakeboarding and even kneeboarding. Or how about rail biking on the disused 10.5 mile-long Flekkefjordbanen rail line? Don’t forget the Flekkefjord Museum, located in an old merchant’s house in the Holland Town.

You can also visit Hildra – Flekkefjord’s largest island. There are plenty of opportunities to go fishing, as well as different places to stay if you want to spend the night. Or how about a walk to the famous Brufjell horizontal potholes? If you come to Flekkefjord on holiday, you can also enjoy the many independent shops, the rows of lovely wooden houses and even the cobblestone streets. There is also a large shopping centre in the old station area.

Flekkefjord is located between Stavanger and Kristiansand, each with their own international airport, and by car takes about an hour and a half from both towns. There are scheduled buses to Flekkefjord from a number of places in Norway. If you are already in the country and are travelling from Eastern Norway, take the Sørlandsbanen train to Sira station. From there, take the 20-minute bus ride to Flekkefjord town centre, however, not every train departure has a bus connection.

If you want to spend the night in beautiful Flekkefjord, there are many hotels for you to choose from. If you want to experience that lovely Southern Norway feeling, you should definitely come to Flekkefjord.
