"Our stay at Hotel Riu Jalisco was wonderful and exceeded expectations. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that cleanliness is a top priority—the rooms, pools, and grounds were impeccably maintained, creating a comfortable and welcoming environment. The staff truly stood out. Every team member we encountered was warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly, which added so much to the overall experience. There’s a great lineup of well-organized activities throughout the day, along with fun nightly entertainment that keeps the atmosphere lively without feeling overwhelming. Dining was another highlight. The restaurants were well run, with efficient service and consistently decent food. There was plenty of variety, everything was fresh and satisfying, and breakfasts offered lots of great options. The beach is beautiful—soft, sandy, and perfect for relaxing or long walks. The ocean views really elevate the experience. As a family-friendly resort, there is some noise—early risers (including kids up around 7:00 am) and evening entertainment—but it’s expected and never felt excessive. Overall, Hotel Riu Jalisco offers a clean, friendly, and lively beach vacation. We would happily return!"

"Well, I’ll start with the pros. The hotel and staff are great. Now, I’m assuming they must have paid for any reviews that say the food is 5 stars. First thing I tried: The outdoor “tiki taco” serves stale chips and shriveled-up hot dogs and something resembling a taco tasted so bad everything out there the cheese stuff for the nachos tasted like bargain brand artificial gross I figured that the steak restaurant would be good; you needed to come early and wait in line, so it has to be yummy, I thought. Wrong; they started it off with some stale bread in a cast iron dish. Tasted like Wonderbread that was left open for a few days. The steak and shriveled-up French fries were so disappointing; both of our steaks were overcooked and tough. I thought, “OK, maybe they can only do Mexican food well,” so when we woke up, we tried the breakfast buffet. Kinda like a hometown buffet but with worse food. The worst part was the Mexican food; I’m from Arizona and love Mexican food, and this was just “glop.” They don’t even have tortillas; that’s not a joke; seriously, they don’t have tortillas at the buffet. There is nowhere else to eat close to the hotel, so you are stuck with it unless you Uber to town. No hot tub. Also, they have a separate bar and areas for people who pay for the elite club. I’m glad I didn’t pay for it because it’s all the same food. The pizza in the buffet is the same as the busted Italian restaurant. The hotel is beautiful, but the food is so bad. "
