"We enjoyed our stay. We were in a deluxe double, no balcony, and it was very spacious. The bed was large, very comfortable, shower was great, everything clean and well maintained. Dorothea at check in went out of her way to assist us, helping us get our bigger vehicle safely parked underground. Virginia and Francesca, the very helpful kitchen staff, were wonderful! As was Concetta, from housekeeping, who helped guise us out of the parking upon departure…Breakfasts were delicious, lots of choices, and lots of veggies! We definitely recommend Solmaris Tropea and its proximity to all of the beauty of Tropea. Gracie Mille!"

"We have stayed in Tropea before (12 years ago) but this hotel had not been built then. A different part of Tropea but as we arrived our fabulous stay began. The staff here are amazing (all from the Manager, to the Bar staff to the cleaning ladies). The rooms are larger than average with excellent facilities. Each room has its own dedicated sun loungers by the pool. Breakfast is served up top, near the pool. The freshly cooked omelettes and scrambled eggs were delicious. All staff spoke beautiful English and even helped me with my Italian. Recommendations for restaurants did not disappoint. A stones throw from centre of Tropea. No hesitation to recommend this hotel to anyone"

"We had a lovely holiday and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel has many great facilities, especially the spa and gym, which were a real bonus. Our child absolutely loved the nursery, and there was a great selection of activities to keep them entertained. The lunch and dinner buffets were very good, with plenty of choice. However, after a longer stay, we felt the menus became quite repetitive. It would be nice to see a little more variety throughout the week, both at breakfast and during lunch and dinner. One suggestion would be to serve breakfast until 10:30am. On several mornings, food started being cleared away before 10:00am, which felt a little rushed. As the hotel has such a relaxing atmosphere, it would be nice if breakfast service reflected that and remained fully available until the advertised finishing time. Our room wasn’t one of the newer refurbished rooms, as none were available to book, which was understandable. However, the shower was a real disappointment. The water temperature constantly changed from freezing cold to boiling hot without anyone touching the controls, making it very difficult to shower comfortably, especially with a child. We reported this and requested that a plumber look at it. Although we were told someone had attended, unfortunately nothing seemed to have changed and the problem continued for the rest of our stay. The only other issue was smoking in the evenings. While we understand this isn’t entirely the hotel’s fault, the number of pe"
