"We regularly travel to Brenham to attend the plays at Unity Theater, and prefer to get a room for the night rather than driving back late in the evening. The Coach Light Inn is our go-to hotel for these overnight trips. It is clean, quiet, well-maintained, and very reasonably priced. We have stayed here at least a dozen times, and have never had a complaint. The hotel is located along the 290 Business route, which gets very little traffic at night, so there is no highway noise to speak of. The rooms are clean, the shower has good water pressure, the TV is a nice size, the beds are comfortable, and the windows have the two-layer type of shades in frames that allow you to get the room nice and dark for sleeping.
Do be aware that this hotel is very basic, so don't expect a lot of extras. There is no pool, no workout room, no guest laundry facilities, no conference rooms, and the free breakfast is minimal. The building itself is the older "motel style" construction with the rooms opening directly to the outside rather than onto an inside corridor. The rooms do include a microwave and mini fridge, an iron and ironing board, and a hair dryer.
If you want a luxury experience with upscale amenities, keep looking. If, however, you just need a clean, quiet room to sleep at night, this is it."
"We (3 of us) found the Carriage House suite to be very enjoyable and met our needs. Having two sleeping spaces and two bathrooms was a perfect situation for us. The bathrooms were clean and generally updated but the drainage in the main bathroom was quite loud. The main house and breakfast were lovely. We walked the grounds which are lush and green, though in need of some pruning and maintenance. Overall, a very good experience and I would consider staying there again on another trip to Brenham."
"Over all good; we asked for no one to come into our room and they still did (not a big deal but still) other then at was clean and staff was friendly"
"I had a different circumstance that required me to go down there a day earlier...I tried through Expedia to change my reservation but was not successful. I called the hotel directly and they were able to assist me so I ended up staying a day earlier and kept my reservation for the original night stay. Hope and the crew were amazingly understanding and helpful. I did not catch the name of the woman who made the breakfasts but when my kid came down, she checked in on her and she made sure she had what she needed and asked if we needed anything else. I mean great customer service there and we've been going and staying there for the past 12 years. It is literally right up the road from the summer camp that we've been going to, it's about 45-minute drive from brenham to go get ice cream, and roughly about 20-25 minutes to round top. So it's a good centrally located hotel."
