Congress Plaza Hotel
Old rundown hotel that needs to be upgraded. I stayed here to attend an event at The Auditorium. This is a large complex that includes shopping and other amenities that is near many tourist locations.

Holiday Inn Chicago Dwtn - The Mart by IHG
The room was very nice and clean. The bed was really comfortable. Staff was very helpful and the restaurant was excellent. Definitely would stay here again.

Sentral Michigan Avenue
Exactly as all positive reviews on line. Spacious; Quiet; have washing and drying machines/microwave etc; marvellous view of the lake (esp dawn). Great value for money. Not in CBD but easy to get UBER or taxi (often cheaper than Uber - just walk 50 meters to Hilton).

We booked a two-bedroom corner suite which was very spacious (especially the kitchen/living room area), and we had very good view of the old town overlooking from the big porch.
