Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden

A beautiful manicured garden with many different types of palm trees, a butterfly garden, and a delicious cafe. A great place to spend a couple of hours and relax.

A novel assortment of visitors this past weekend at Miami's famed Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens included these witches and bats created by artist and Fairchild volunteer Bev Murphy. Her fun and funky creations, made completely from organic materials, certainly helped set the stage for upcoming Halloween festivities.

You might think I'd prefaced our encounter with the phrase, "Say cheese," before I snapped this picture of this cheeky lizard, but not so. I guess he just naturally likes to show off those pearly whites.

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden offers a plethora of palms and tropical plants, orchids, butterflies, festivals, and, yes, even lizards to tickle the fancy of gardeners, horticultureists, and nature lovers alike.

Don't overlook the Wings of the Tropics Exhibit at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. This beautiful creature (doctored a bit in Photoshop) and hundreds others warmly greeted me during my visit.
