"This is my third stay at Rugged Country Lodge. I travel with my dog and appreciate this hotel being pet friendly. Also, it’s close to the Riverwalk trail so makes dog walks super pleasant. I carry my own food for breakfast as I eat organic but the coffees good here!
I like this place as it has a homey, old fashioned feel and comfortable, quiet rooms with refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. This visit I walked up to Hal’s burgers for dinner(not organic, but when in Rome…) had the Cattleman and a side salad that had me stuffed. Yummy burger. I’ll most likely be back!"
"This hotel is always clean & staff are super friendly. I love their complimentary happy hour appetizer & drink. Their breakfast is pretty good as well. The hot tub is nice & hot with strong jets!"
"This is a mid range hotel/motel. Everything was ok. The lady working the breakfast buffet worked hard to make the buffet good. The front desk did not have a lot of information about what was open for tourists on a weekend including restaurants."
"Pool was closed, though it is advertised as opening in May. One of the three pieces of gym equipment was broken. Breakfast was generally good, but coffee was full of grounds and weak. Front desk staff was asleep when we tried to check out in the morning. Overall outdated building in a charming sort of way, but there was definitely a musty smell in all the common areas. Spacious rooms were pretty clean, and there were spectacular views all over the building. Plenty of parking, but far away from the rooms."
