This view is from Elmina Castle, in Ghana. It was completed in 1486 by the Portuguese. From 1637-1872 it became property of the Dutch. In 1872 it was ceded to Britain. It was also one of the gateways for slaves to board ships to America. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site. History can be seen inside these walls.
