El Rosarito Hotels near San José del Cabo

"Got a 1 bedroom villa in building #2 with ocean view, large balcony and that was great but the room itself smelled old and moldy, very dark kitchen. It was also noisy in the mornings (construction, restaurant, maintenance). Had to change rooms due to original room wasn't clean properly. Second room could have been cleaned better as well (bathroom sinks, kitchen sink, dishes had a strong smell of cascade detergent) Upon check in, was asked to join some hyatt club presentation the next day with free breakfast and a gift card. I said I'd think about it as I had just arrived and need to settle in. The next day again was asked and I sign up to only find out it was a membership sale presentation where they asked for $50K in order to join the club. Took 3 hours of my vacation time trying to convince me to pay the $50K for future vacations. Weird! The property itself is pretty nice, walking around at night felt safe, feels like you're still in the USA, lawn games around the main area, the 2 pools are nice with amazing views, wish they had more than one restaurant, food was not the best but not the worst either. Very pricey! Proximity to the cove and the sea was nice but beware there can be some unpleasant stuff on the semi-private beach (we saw human feces on the beach sand near the staircase one morning, maintenance cleaned it up but still this left a sanitary question in my mind) Enjoyed the daily aqua fit with Ricky, friendly staff, free beach chairs and umbrella"

"We had a very relaxing four night stay mostly just hanging out at the pool. We appreciated that it was pretty easy to distance from louder people / pool bar area as desired. The pool staff were amazing. The prices of all food and drinks on property are quite absurd ($25 margaritas and $10 Pacificos - USD), but it is also easy to get off property for more reasonable tourist-oriented food/drinks or even better, hole in the wall Mexican joints where you could spend $10 or so on a big breakfast for two. Room was comfortable, and I appreciated the full coffee maker and fridge. Be aware that the hotel tries to "forbid" you from taking ubers, so we just walked outside the gate to catch ours, and we got dropped off just outside the gate. Overall a great experience aligned to what we wanted - total ease and relaxation."

"Amazing resort with lots of choices of pools, bars, restaurants, locations to hang out or be active. Staff are incredibly responsive and kinds. Only problem was limited selection of wines or champagne or Prosecco. Great if you like lots of mixed drinks but not so much if wine is your preferred drink. "

"This is a lovely resort, right on the huge beach! The largest beach I've ever seen, although the waves are huge so not suitable for swimming. The back side of the property is next to the road so there is road noise. If you have a car, please note the traffic can be pretty bad. Food was good. The property is approx 30 mins from Los Cabos."
