"I had mixed feelings about my stay at Double Gem Beach Resort. The property itself is beautiful, with lush greenery and a peaceful, natural atmosphere that I really appreciated. The staff were also very kind, welcoming, and attentive throughout my stay.
I did appreciate that breakfast was included, which is always a nice touch. The drinks were actually very good, including the alcoholic options. The Filipino food was also enjoyable and felt authentic. However, if you ordered anything outside of local cuisine, it didn’t quite hit the mark and felt more like a rough interpretation rather than something well-executed.
That said, there were a few things that made my stay less comfortable. Not being able to flush toilet paper and having to dispose of it separately was difficult to adjust to and affected my overall sense of cleanliness. I understand this may be standard in some areas, but it was still uncomfortable for me personally.
Additionally, there was no Wi-Fi in the rooms and cellular service was very limited, which made it difficult to stay connected when needed.
Overall, while I can appreciate the natural charm of the property and the friendliness of the staff, the lack of certain comforts made it hard for me to fully enjoy my stay. This may be a better fit for travelers looking for a more rustic, unplugged experience."
