"Overall I had a very nice stay. I was however, disappointed on the first night, which was my birthday not to be able to book a room in the restaurant due to a wedding taking place. It would have been nice to have been made aware of this beforehand. Just be prepared to pre book the restaurant."
"Stunning building, easy parking, great location, and the staff were brilliant. The room was decent but the bed was average, carpets are a bit worn, and a few bits haven't been dusted in a while. There's some mould in the bathroom too - not ideal, but nothing a quick bleach or clean couldn't fix. Two of our three nights had weddings going until midnight - noisy outside but fine in the room. Happy with our stay and would stay again, just needs a bit of attention."
"The room was lovely and the ocean view was a lovely touch. The room was clean and well equipped.
Staff were friendly and quick to reply.
Feedback: breakfast took far too long (over and hour) despite the cafe not seeming busy. The lack of lifts didn’t make it easy for disabled people."
"Please do not book! Worst experience I’ve ever had. This establishment is well past its prime and I’ve stayed in better hostels and received more professionalism. In a nut shell I was expected to stay in this shabby, run down establishment over a full weekend in a unkept, unclean horrible environment with no television which was falling off the wall and a sticky remote which didn’t work and no signal due to apparent high winds damaging the aerial which meant every tv in the hotel didn’t work. What’s more in my silence I was to listen to ongoing building work at 7pm on a Friday night. Mind you I can’t understand what was being built as the place was falling apart. No apology was provided and it’ll work on Monday was explained. The room itself was very basic with unclean sheets, I didn’t delve any deeper, and my room was looking across a small interior courtyard into another room. No net curtains provided privacy so I was expected to stay, after a 6 hour drive, in a room listening to the sound of building work instead of sea waves whilst sitting in the dark with no natural light or open window sea air. I checked out after 20 minutes assured I would be compensated for the inconvenience which was then declined by the host on numerous attempts by Expedia and I was simply told there was nothing I could do but watch my hard earned money go to waste as this money would clearly not be used for future renovations as this host doesn’t care about operating in the industry!"
"Just not very good, reasonable price but not really budget or bargain, Great location next to the train, Great Western beach and Pub, Just not a very good hotel. The single room is tiny with a tiny bed and looks more like a student doss house. No air con, fan doesn't work, no lift to the 3rd floor.
Staff often not available at all, has a chintzy looking restaurant in the front but no idea what or if they serve, so many better places to eat, or stay for that matter.
Tired."
