Red currant bushes on road past The Dale Red currants (Ribes nigrum) Currants are closely related to the gooseberry. Red currants were first mentioned in European literature, in a German manuscript from the early 15th century. They were domesticated by the 16th century mainly in the Netherlands and Denmark. Red currants can be eaten raw but perhaps the most familiar use of red currants is the jelly called "Cumberland sauce". Hotel was clean and a really lovely place to stay. Unfortunately the room we had was nothing like what was shown on the website and was below average. The room was quite small and the shower was very basic. We asked for another room but because it was valentine's weekend it was fully booked.

Had an excellent stay here! The receptionists were all very friendly and accommodating. The location is perfect, right near the cathedral. Room was clean and had what I needed. I would 100% stay here again next time I’m in Norwich
