"First time staying at the Northern. It was a great mix of nostalgia, significant upgrades, and very well maintained rooms. I would stay there again in a heartbeat, but I did find my king bed to be a bit soft. Everyone likes a different firmness, but the bed firmness seemed simply too soft for most sleepers (I imagine)."

"I only stayed a night but could have stayed for days. The room was comfortable and spacious with a full kitchen with plates, cups, flatware, cooking utensils, dish towels, and small appliances. The room was clean and the Wi-Fi worked well. The staff was very friendly and professional. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean."

"Parking is convenient. I liked entering the room from outside instead of from a hallway. The exhaust fan in the bathroom didn't work so mirrors fogged up. The carpeting is quite old and mostly in good condition except for a corner where a water pipe goes through the floor. Carpet was very dirty in that corner. I would have liked more lighting in the room. The mattress was very comfortable as were the pillows. The glass cups and water glasses were a nice touch ... don't see that in many motels any more. Also nice towels that were re-stocked every day. I was disappointed that when I went into the restaurant for breakfast, the waitress asked if I was a guest. I said yes. She told me I would have to go to the office and purchase a voucher but it was only $8, which would be reasonable. However, I don't walk real well and instead of going to the office and then back to the restaurant, I just went to my room and skipped breakfast. I suggest selling the vouchers right in the restaurant. Showing a room key would prove you are a registered guest. Overall, a nice stay for a reasonable cost and convenient location for me. I would consider staying again."
