"This is a really cool place. When you walk in you are greeted by tropical birds, a koi pond, a little restaurant, and an indoor pool with two hot tubs. The back exits directly to the beach. There is a small arcade above the pool but it was locked two out of the three times we tried to check it out. The balcony views of the ocean from our room were great. The bottom floor has direct exits from their back decks. Other rooms have balconies that are inside overlooking the indoor pool. (There is another pool outside). Overall I think this is a really cool hotel. However, I think the housekeeping can be better. They brought us new towels twice over our 6 days, and one of those times was an hour before checking out. And 2 of our days we had the privacy sign up but the other days housekeeping did not come clean the room at all. The shower was the worst part of the stay. Every ~30 seconds the water would switch from warm to ice cold and vice versa. This happened EVERY time any of us showered. A woman in the elevator told me her AC wasn’t working in her room. This was our 2nd time here and we do like it, our kids enjoyed it too, but some improvements could be made."
"The rooms appear to be recently upgraded and are spacious. The pool area was indoors and included a large hot tub and a small splash pad for toddlers. Parking is free but we had to find street parking once when returning to the hotel late at night. We found a spot next to the hotel so it was not an inconvenience. The resort fee covers the use of 2 beach chairs per room which is very convenient. However, if you want to rent an umbrella, that will cost you $20 per day. We bought a decent umbrella for $29.99 at a store one block north of the hotel. There is a shuttle to and from the beach but it stops operating at 4:30. It’s only a block walk to the beach."
"Rooms are tiny. If you need a bed and not much more then you’re good… because there’s not much else. Pool was nice however no supervision. Can’t control people who are inconsiderate of others. Parking was brutal. There’s a lot a block away. It’s fine if you never need to touch your car for the stay. Location is prime tho. Right at the front of the boardwalk. I’d come back for the location but nothing else."
"The Princess Royale was a very nice hotel that had a great resort feel. They offer an oceanfront café and bar with good live music daily. There is a coffee shop serving Starbucks coffee, and a full-service breakfast restaurant, along with a large indoor pool and fitness area.
The hotel is exceptionally clean and well cared for, which is the most important. We had a very nice Queen Oceanview Suite on the fifth floor with a separate large bedroom and a nice living room area. The suite had 2 very comfortable beds, a kitchenette with a large refrigerator, including an ice maker, 2-burner stovetop, microwave, dishwasher, and a Keurig, which was very convenient. We brought a small toaster as they are not included. The balcony is small but has two Adirondack chairs, nice for relaxing and enjoying a perfect view of the pretty ocean. The hotel is located more in the quieter area, away from the boardwalk, which is the area we prefer. We did decide to check out the boardwalk and have a bite to eat, and easily found free parking on the side streets right at the boardwalk. There is also a strip shopping center right across from the hotel with Lombardi’s excellent Italian food, a liquor store and bar, and a Candy Kitchen store that has some of the best milk chocolate we have ever had.
We actually have an additional 4-night stay scheduled for August, that we extended to 5 nights, after our great stay at the Princess Royale. We are definitely looking forward to our next stay."
"I like that the hotel is located right in front of the beach and board walk, access to many shopping places, staff helpful, air conditioning great, the only think is that the hotel need upgrade inside furniture and room and bathroom."
