"casino was good, carpet could be cleaner and the chairs are showing serious wear"

"We had a late check in which I had informed the hotel of earlier in the day. We ended up checking in around 10 pm and when we got to our room and had went to use the bathroom I noticed the toilet was filthy with feces stains in the toilet. There was no soap or shampoo and conditioner in the bottles that are affixed to the shower wall. I did also notice the beds were made but the sheets and pillow cases were very wrinkled like they had already been slept on. Then to top it off in the morning when I went to make a cup of coffee there was a creamer and some sugar packets but no coffee at all to be made as well as what looked to be mustard stains on the carpet next to the bed. The staff was nice but I would never stay there again as I felt the room was very dirty for the amount of money they charged. Very disappointing to say the least. "

"This Drury hotel is our family's "go to" favorite place to stay when visiting Iowa City. Friendly staff. Clean comfortable rooms that you can relax in. Nice bedding. Quiet. A really good breakfast with hot foods or grab and go items such as fruit, ect. If you check in early enough, there are also nice appetizers and beverages. Something for everyone. My son swam in the pool and had fun. It was partially indoors and outdoors. It was too chilly to go outside when were were there, but it would be fun in the summer time. Another nice perk is the free self parking, in the adjacent lot, just steps away or underground. There is an elevator and it was well lit when we arrived in the evening. It is nice to not have the added parking expenses. "

"The room was clean, quiet, and well-maintained, and the robes were a nice touch. However, the king bed in our room was rock hard. I ended up trying to sleep in the room’s provided chair while my husband tossed & turned all night. So, if comfortable sleep during travel is important to you as it is to us, I recommend elsewhere unless they have other beds that are actually “pillow-top” as their description states. No microwave was also a drawback."

"The breakfast was good. 24 hour espresso machine. My kids enjoyed at the pool. It looked clean at the water was warm. The hotel right on the river. Keep a fishing pole in in case your kids sleep in like mine did."

"The breakfast was amazing and the convenience of being connected to the conference center was great too. However, the rooms were not very clean and the facility and rooms are very outdated. The cleaning staff was friendly. The front desk staff were not very helpful or friendly. "

"Extremely loud until after 11 pm. No microwave or mini fridge in room. Couldn’t sleep due to noise levels with people running in the hallways and being loud in neighboring rooms. The walls are paper thin. "

"The pool area and casino floor are great. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The only negative feature was the hot water, seems to not go above cold. "
