5. Villaggio della Salute Più

"Wonderful location in the hills outside Bologna. Fantastic thermal spa pools. Nice food and great staff (reception speak english). The room was basic and definitely overpriced. 2 stars at best Euro 65 per night should be the price, in my experienced opinion. Noisy and drafty accommodation. Conversations in the corridors and stairwells echoed around the whole building. Smokers' cigarette smoke somehow drifted into my room. WiFi was non-existent. In summary, bad hotel for business travellers....

6. Agriturismo Ca' Nuova

"Truly a beautiful and old world look agriturismo. Felt like we were in an antique villa. Large room and excellent service. The owner is very nice and professional. Breakfast is home made, fresh, abundant and soooo good!!! 5 stars hotel except this little village outside of Bologna is nothing special. But the agriturismo is great and with great ambiance if you want to stay outside Bologna and take field trips from this location. Same hotel in Tuscany would be double the price."

"My husband and I were not so sure we had made a good choice as our cab drove us to this destination and the last 1/2 mile was a dirt road. It’s in a very remote location so we would definitely recommend anyone staying here has a vehicle! The property is expansive with gardens and grapevines. Rita, the owner, went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. The 2 nights we stayed she cooked us delicious & authentic homemade meals, complete with wine that is bottled on the property. Top Eastern Bologna Hotel Reviews

Elizabeth Lifestyle Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Room was a decent size and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful."

Savhotel Fiera Bologna

10/10 Excellent

"The key thing to know about the hotel is that it is outside the old city. The old city is the beautiful part of town, with ancient buildings, few cars, etc. The hotel is in a more modern area. It felt safe, but with much less foot traffic than the old city. If you have a car, the hotel location is great, but I don't know about parking inside town. I also found it hard to find a cab back one night, and Ubers back were 30 to 40 euros for a while, but then went down to 27 or so. On a nice day, the 30 minute walk from the hotel to the center of the old city is fine. But I would not want to have to take that walk in winter or hot summer days. On the plus side, the hotel is by two big grocery stores (Eurospar and Aldi). But its refrigerator is very small, and there is no microwave. The big sushi restaurant nearby is excellent; the tiny Chinese take-out one is terrible. Nello's, in the Old City, was fantastic. The hotel breakfast is delicious."
