"I love staying at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square and I do once or twice a year. Its location is so convenient for a lover of Broadway shows, as I am. This visit, I had a show scheduled at 1pm and arrived at 11am. The gentleman at the front desk was able to get me into my room right away, rather than having to wait until after my show was over. I need to ride a mobility scooter, which can sometimes be a challenge with the elevators, but there is almost always someone around to help hold the doors. The rooms are spacious and clean. The housekeeping staff are so helpful! Whenever I was exiting or entering my room when they were anywhere near my room, they would rush to hold open the door to my room. It costs somewhat more than other nearby hotels, but the quality and service are worth it!"
"Normally before I book a hotel, I spend days reading reviews and comparing other hotels to get the best deal and ideal location. For this particular trip, I didn't have the mental capacity to spend days researching considering NYC has so many options so I just booked and prayed that I was not going to get there and regret my decision.
Location: 10/10 Located in Midtown. If taking the metro to go downtown/uptown or beyond Manhattan, Grand Central Terminal just a few steps away.
Appearance:
Exterior 6/10. I noticed the street was dirty but that might be due to the homeless that seem to hang out right outside the main entrance and leave their trash.
Interior 8/10.
Lobby was fine. Nothing picture worthy.
Hotel Room: 6/10
My biggest issue throughout my entire stay was my room was really stuffy. No matter how much I fidget with the thermostat the room never cooled down properly. Besides that, the room itself, the most basic was fine for my needs. Room was clean, hot/cold water on demand, and mini fridge included. No coffee maker which personally I never use anyways.
I stayed for 4 nights. The deposit I thought was a bit too steep (but I knew that when booking). $500 dollars of which $195 was actually charged. Resort fee plus baggage check.
Would I stay here again? Sure."
"The location of the hotel was great, but unfortunately the overall experience was very disappointing. The room — especially the bathtub and bathroom area — was not clean, and there appeared to be mold between the bathroom tiles. The shower curtain was also extremely dirty and honestly quite disgusting.
Another major issue was the shower water temperature. The water stayed cold the entire time, so we were never able to have a comfortable shower during our stay.
On top of that, after checkout they charged us $12 USD to store a carry-on suitcase and backpack for only two hours, which felt unreasonable.
Overall, I would not recommend this hotel and would not stay here again, although the location was convenient."
"Our experience at the Arlo this past weekend was nothing short of phenomenal. It was my wife and I’s anniversary, and the staff made sure the experience was truly unforgettable from the moment we checked in.
From accommodating additional requests to make our stay even more special, the Arlo went above and beyond through and through. The location was also ideal for everything we had planned for the weekend, easy to get in and out of, close to the train station, and conveniently located overall.
Could not recommend this location and staff more."
"Stayed for 2 nights shortly after the hotel's post-renovation reopening in May. Visually appealing hotel with beautifully updated lobby and cosmetic refresh of guest rooms. Staff was uniformly polite and helpful. Our room was rather small but adequate for our purposes, as we didn't spend much time in it; we did appreciate the very comfortable bed and blackout shades, and it was great to have access to a well-appointed fitness facility on site. Very conveniently located for walking to Penn Station and Theatre District; loads of restaurant/bar options nearby."
"Buffett breakfast was really Be aware that have 2 separate rooms with different items to eat. Need to visit both. Waffle maker room & Main breakfast room. They also have a free refill water station."
