"It was a pleasant stay and staff were helpful"

"Spa and pool were great and staff very welcoming. Hotel is very grand and sits in its own grounds which was nice. It was a easy walk into Harrogate to the shops, station or park. Room was clean and well serviced but whole hotel could do with some TLC. Only one small lift worked all week. Service at breakfast, bar (food & drinks) was variable. It was sometime necessary to ask for something multiple times, which was a little frustrating. Great selection at breakfast but please fix the toaster, it was either undercooked or trying to set the place on fire. Champagne bar is a little misleading as its part of the main restaurant and although we did manage to get a drink there it was clear this was not normal as we were told there was no where to sit, because the restaurant was fully booked (even though there were bar stools) it was only used for serving the main restaurant only."

"We arrived before check in but they had our rooms ready for us which was great to leave our things in the room as we were going straight out for a music festival. The only negative was that we had to pay for an extra breakfast and I thought it was included for all three of us staying. But that could have been my error not noticing it properly on the third party booking site. Breakfast had a good selection, some items were running low but we didn’t have to wait long until it was replenished. Parking was right opposite the hotel and you get a discount when you put your reg in at the reception desk. We had a very pleasant short stay and would highly recommend it."

"I booked a room based on the information provided on Expedia, which was a family room. The photos didn’t give the actual reality of what the family room entitled, which was a separate toilet with no sink and then a separate shower and sink…… I didn’t know this was a 1930s layout I raise this with the staff who rectify this at once, which was great, but this now really surprised me in today’s age Also, they allow pets into the hotel which it’s not really needed and put people off"

"Hotel fab, staff and service excellent - disappointed in the pickled sprout restaurant, a very heavy unseasonal menu for our liking, sharers hard to share unless you both like the same thing - not enough balance, starters missing meat options and a burger including chips was no veggie options - I’m not veggie) which, they may be fab quality, but need to recognise the market isn’t always captive"
