"I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I was just staying for a short time as I had a very early flight. This is my second year staying at this hotel and will book again when flying from Gatwick."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Grand Hotel. Will definitely return. The staff in all areas were great from check in to bar/restaurant. One area I do feel could be looked at is breakfast. As we were travelling with our 2 small dogs we sit in a separate area from where breakfast is served. This is perfectly understandable however, it’s quite the trek from the breakfast room to where pet owners sit. If you can get a tray to help carry your Coffee/Juice/Toast etc you need to be travelling with someone so they can sit with your pet while you go to the breakfast room. Plus you are walking through a very busy reception area. A suggestion would be that those guests travelling with pets could receive table service in order to avoid the many challenges we encountered at breakfast."

"For the price you pay it’s not up to standard. You are better off going to the travel lodge over the road. Only good thing about the stay was breakfast and where the hotel is. Other than that, I wouldn’t stay here again. Had to be moved rooms due to the filth that was in the room. If you’re staying on the first floor all you can hear is people above. Cleaners and manager need a talking too. The head board was thick with dust and there’s only one thing splattered on that head board, it’s disgusting. I’ll be contacting head office. Not acceptable."

"Beautiful building but lack of attention to detail. Upon arrival in spa, went to make a cup of hot tea and there was no sugar or stir sticks or spoons. Wanted to enjoy the hot tub before massage and it was like a barely warm bath plus the jets were spraying up at your face so you couldn’t sit without getting water in the face. Two lockers didn’t work. The massage staff was friendly but it was definitely fluff and buff- not much pressure so that was a disappointment. The main restaurant was fully booked and only time we could eat at the casual bar was 9 pm- so we had no dinner. Spa suite was spacious and well designed but the lights didn’t work and the hairdryer back piece kept falling off. Not impressed."
