"Check-in was pretty bad - the chap at the front desk couldn't find our reso and while he wrestled the computer he just sat his dog on the counter (small dog, plexiglass barrier that had too small a gap at the bottom for the dog to directly touch us, but just a bit, well, weird!)
On the good front the room was bigger than expected, clean, full-size fridge-freezer so we could recharge the icepacks from our cooler properly, large new TV - less good was the window in the door which while privacy was not an issue as there was a frosted effect, let a huge amount of light in at dawn. Considering the other two windows were barely larger and they had proper blackout drapes, a real oversight!
WiFi was also inadequate for how many rooms they have - signal constantly dropped all evening, but at 5am when we were woken up by the sun it worked perfectly, so it wasn't a range-from-the-modem issue but purely down to insufficient capacity. We could read emails, but couldn't even play simple games if they needed a live server link. The very old-looking AC unit did cool the room fine, but was unable to provide 'white noise' even in 'constant fan' mode as the volume went up and down frequently but with no pattern.
If in Hinton, no need for reliable fast WiFi, with earplugs and an eye shade, I'd say it's a good choice for you - nice wee pub just down the road, a couple of other dining options even closer, deskclerk was friendly - but we wouldn't stay again ourselves."
"We were in the only single cabin and it was super nice and cute. The bed was very very comfy and made up with sheets and a comforter that you might have at home. Very pretty and soft!
Everything was clean and it even had a bathtub that was clean enough to use! One suggestion to the owner, though, is the taps in the tub need to be caulked or you are going to have some water issues down the road!
The kitchenette was small but functional. I loved the little deck at the front and enjoyed breakfast there.
It was super quiet and birds were singing in the morning.
Great stay, fastest check in of my life!"
"Newer hotel, but pool and hot tub were out of order, elevator was out of order for half the trip, fridge in room did not work, thermostat in room did not work. No housekeeping available and when we called for more towels and bedding we were told we would have to come to the front desk to retrieve the requested items because they were short staffed. We paid a hefty amount for the room, this isn’t acceptable."
"This hotel was in a great place, right next to a beautiful sandy beach, with a dock, by a lake. The grounds could be kept a bit better, but maybe it was like that because I was there early in the season. Bed was comfortable, the cabin a bit small especially the bathroom, but a tub was great. Loved the little patio, and so close to a very yummy food joint."
