La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Raleigh/Durham Southpoint
8/10 Good
"I was initially given a room that had a failing air conditioner and the TV did not work. I asked for a room that had a working air conditioner. We then had to move to a different room which was then noticeable cooler, however, the TV still did not work in the new room either. Luckily I brought my laptop so we were able to watch a movie on my laptop.
Also at check- in the receptionist gave me no parking passes. Subsequently I was told by the second receptionist that same evening that I was on the verge of getting my car towed because the check-in receptionist gave me no passes for parking."
"The a/c kept cutting out (on auto) and would not run on fan only on temps ranging from 68 when we arrived to 72.) Outside Temps overnight in upper 70’s.
Room looked clean enough & inviting - liked the couch /ottoman- but seemed dusty.
No extra towels in room for 2 adults (last stay we had 3 complete sets of towels).
Lobby looked inviting, but we weren’t staying for the lobby. An off duty construction worker (? Staying on the property?) siting in side building exit on a bench, speaking Spanish, reeking of weed and drinking a huge beer when we were trying to exit to get dinner. Used front entrance upon getting our takeout meal, and he was still there.
Disappointed, not to find machine on 1st floor. Was told only upper floors had ice machines, signage inadequate. Had to ask front desk where to go to get ice.
Customer service front desk employee arrived late this morning and held up checkout. No other employees visible. No box to place room keys in seen, or we would have simply done that.
Unfortunately we will look elsewhere for our next trip."

10/10 Excellent
"Would absolutely stay here again! We were a family of five visiting the area to tour colleges. We stayed here for 3 nights in order to spend time on the Duke University and UNC campuses. It was the perfect location for visiting everywhere we needed to be. We did not visit the hospital however it was right across the street which was so convenient for anyone staying for treatments, etc. The room is spacious enough for everyone. We had a suite which was great having the sofa and additional space. The staff was so friendly and very helpful with directions and recommendations. Our only complaint, which is minor, is the size of the bathroom. We were fine however be prepared that the area for the toilet and shower is very tight."
