We needed to delay room cleaning one day, and then went several without any tidying up or cleaning. But the bar and restaurant staff were more on top of things, and cheerful."

"We had the most amazing stay at Amara Cay in Islamorada for our honeymoon! From the moment we arrived, everything felt effortless, relaxing, and truly special. The pool area and private beach were highlights for us—plenty of space to unwind, with crystal-clear water and the most peaceful atmosphere. It never felt overcrowded, which made it even more enjoyable. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive throughout our stay, always going out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. You can tell they genuinely care about the guest experience. The location is also perfect—close to everything in Islamorada while still feeling like a private escape. Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway or just a relaxing trip, this place checks every box. We’ll absolutely be back and couldn’t recommend it more!"

"The room we stayed in was in terrible shape. The bathroom had the floor coming up and separating on its own. Water would leak out under the shower, under the floor covering causing that. There is cockroaches. Also a lot of black mold in the bathroom and rotten cabinetry. The room we stayed in is desperately in need of a remodel. No one should be allowed stay in that room until that is completed! I mentioned all of this to the staff, and they offered no compensation and no other rooms were available for us to move into. So it was either go rent a hotel and still pay for this one or suck it up and live with the cockroaches."
