Downtown West Hotels near St. Louis

"Nice place — this hotel is a little older but clean, the rooms are spacious and nice— the showers are amazing and the breakfast buffet is great — could use better and stronger coffee."

"The cafe that sold breakfast ran out of healthy options each morning (yogurt parfait cup/ overnight oats & quinoa $8 each) They had other plates, egg with meat, etc that looked nice fwiw. Cute gift shop in the cafe. Fashionable hotel with no real 'front desk' just a checkin counter, but volunteers were staffing a St. Louis info table in the lobby while we were there- very friendly. The bar/tapas restaurant across the lobby was fun, $$, and kitchen closed at 10 or so when our events got out so I didn't get to try it. LOVED the historic building, originally a YMCA, the handsome billiards room and the terrific tiled pool with vaulted ceiling- they don't make them like that anymore. Steam room, sauna, showers were great- bring a room towel in case the spa runs short! Open til 10:30p or 11p fyi. Art Museum on the 2nd floor is free to visitors, and had some challenging, gorgeous, funny, and thought-provoking art. Historic Campbell Mansion next door was a neat contrast and a quick peek into the high Victorian era. Glad I went, would stay again"

"Super nice staff, the back entrance was a bit dark but no steps, the front entrance with steps faced a huge Ferris Wheel that made it very easy to locate this hotel after walking around downtown! Comfortable seating areas for the nice breakfast- liked the oatmeal- and the 'kickback' evening simple supper/snacks made it easy to stay there. Didn't use the pool but saw it, pretty basic. Handsome old YMCA building, the rooms were plain but the building had some nice architectural and historic touches! Hadn't heard of this chain but would enjoy staying again, ty ty"

"The hotel and the room were very up-to-date, clean and inviting, the staff including the security guards (James, Norris and Mike) were all very professional, full of information about the area, restaurants and sights. They all went out of their way to help us and were so friendly. The breakfast was changing every day and better than your normal hotel breakfast. And the hotel was convenient to everything downtown"
