"Everything was really nice. The only issue we had was we were put on the 4th floor an the elevator was out. "

"The rooms are a little outdated. What they did over in our bathroom, ie the tile shower, there was still grout smeared on the floors and this isn’t recent. Parking expensive and not included in your hotel fees. Restaurants including the market place store very expensive. The views are incredible, the staff very friendly and there’s a lot of history in this old hotel. Worth at least one visit"

"We have been staying at this hotel over the past four years. Just recently, it became a La Quinta hotel. I will say that the staff and amenities of the hotel are just as good as they were in the past. The only negative about the property is the drive area to get in and out to the street. It is an elevated hump to drive over in and out of the street and a hard turn to get into the hotel. It’s better to go in and out the waffle House entrance I will stay here again when I’m in Asheville"

"The front desk staff was very good. Check-in and out were fast. The hotel is located at the intersection of several roads, so you can access the roads very quickly. The breakfast menu is regular, nothing special. The walls, floors, and doors are not soundproof. You can hear everything. I do not know if it was supposed to be like that, but our beds were not made during our stay. Garbage stayed in the garbage bins until our checkout. The dirty towels were removed from our room daily, but we had to ask the front desk person to give us new ones."

"Staff was exceptional. Room was beautiful, large and nicely appointed. Location was wonderful - great to walk to all the downtown spots. Little details like snacks and waters available 24 hours. Free parking which is a rarity at a downtown hotel. Five stars all around!"

"Stay is always nice. Beautiful property, i'm really comfortable to stay at. If they had a pool, that would be wonderful, they keep saying they're planning one.But that hasn't happened yet. Location is great.It's right across from the entrance to built.More estate is part of built more village. Lots of dining and shopping are in a short walk and even a short drive away. Redstag restaurant inside is superb.It is a higher end restaurant, so it's gonna be pricey.But was well worth the price. The red stag bar is really nice. The property has some very inviting fireplaces right in the center right across from the check in area.Very comfortable to relax and just chill out for a little bit. Having your car ready when you need to leave to go on.Errands or leaving the property is quite fast. Very nice place to stay on the higher end.But still, far less than some of the more upscale places in town."
