"This property clearly has a lot of history and potential, but it is starting to show its age in ways that a fresh coat of paint cannot hide. While the room was a fair value, the maintenance and upkeep lacks a necessary attention to detail.
Several areas showed where old fixtures had been removed and simply painted over without repairing the drywall and the hot tub was missing its finishing trim work. More concerning was the bathroom soap dispenser, not only was it empty, it was crudely screwed back into a damaged wall without any finish work. Even the exterior felt unfinished, with blue painter’s tape still visible on the windows.
The room’s comfort and functionality also fell short. The mattress was significantly worn, causing my wife and I to roll into the middle throughout the night. The TV was off set in a weird location from the bed. Additionally, the toilet paper holder was placed in an awkward, inconvenient spot, and the hot tub lacked any instructions for operation.
Finally, the property is very "no-frills." There are zero amenities on-site—no continental breakfast, no vending or pop machines and the ice machine was difficult to locate. It is a pleasant enough stay for the price, but the property would benefit greatly from a maintenance professional who focuses on the smaller finishing touches and basic guest conveniences."
"couldn't seem to get our heater to throw out heat. finally after turning off and on again got it to work. second morning we woke up and room was freezing cold. discovered that the window trim was broken and cold air was pouring in and over powering any heat. notified the desk on departure."
"Front desk staff were amazing but Hutton was closed after I called and specifically asked if it was open the pool was closed the next morning. Dog or cat urine in the elevator for over 6 hours. "
"We’ve stayed her before and never had any issues, and the service is always stellar. Our rooms were very clean and the housekeeping staff was so kind and patient when we needed more towels in the evening; the assistant general manager whom checked us in was very professional and kind; the concierge that checked us out at the end of the day was a peach! I always recommend this hotel in Holland because I’ve never had a bad experience and it’s so clean and the breakfast is also very generous. Before I forget, Sharkee’s is also a great restaurant and bar with top tier service. In all seriousness, I give this specific Hampton Inn higher than 5 stars. Thank you all for your hard work and kindness!"
"Doors had cracks in them wasn’t secure at all someone tried to come in the room , and almost came in with it locked. Huge safety concern . Only reason I’m giving two stars is because the pool was nice . However they allowed 15 plus kids to eat pizza and drinks which caused the area to become dirty and messy. "
