Dos Hermanas is located along the Via Augusta that joins Rome with Cádiz, although its first origins are unclear. It seems the area was inhabited in the Roman period, but with the invasion by the Arab peoples it became part of the outskirts of Seville, and there are no written references to the town until the 15th century.
