"Our stay at Nascar Hotel was exceptional from beginning to end. As someone who teaches hospitality in New York City and travels frequently, I don’t say this lightly—I was genuinely amazed by the level of customer service and hospitality we experienced here. Every single person we encountered was warm, welcoming, and sincerely friendly. The service felt genuine, not scripted, and everyone made us feel truly cared for. A very special thank you to Louisa at the front desk. She is truly one of a kind! Her kindness, warmth, professionalism, and genuine enthusiasm made such a lasting impression on us. Before our boat trip, she even surprised us with a cooler bag to take with us for the day—a small gesture that perfectly reflected the hotel’s thoughtful and caring approach to hospitality. She is exactly the kind of person every hotel hopes to have representing them. The rooms are lovely, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. Breakfast was another highlight, with delicious fresh options and eggs prepared à la minute, exactly the way you like them. The restaurant deserves special recognition. The food was outstanding, and I absolutely loved that the wine list exclusively featured Sardinian wines. It was such a thoughtful way to showcase the island’s incredible wine culture, and every bottle we tried was fantastic. Nascar Hotel perfectly captures the warmth and charm of Sardinian hospitality. "It's a longish drive from Cagliari (around 250KM) but of course it's worth it to really get away from it all. The hotel is a lovely place up in the hills so you have your choice of the spectacular mountain scenery on one side or a lazy day on the beaches on the other. Watch those twisty mountain roads though! Watch more for the Mountain Goats who, I swear, like to leap out at you just for a dare. Especially when you're coming around on a tight u-bend with a deadly sheer precipice on one side. The owners have quite a menagerie and I especially loved the donkeys who were all friendly and adorable. One had a foal on the second night I was there and I got to see the new one the following day. Awwww! Very helpful, friendly owners and "Mama" is a lovely person. So, if peace, quiet and irresistibly cute baby animals is your thing, I highly recommend a stay here."
