"The room is advertised as having two queen beds and one king bed. That is completely false. The two smaller beds are full sized at best and the larger one is a queen. The advertising is pretty deceiving."

"The lodge is old so being in the downstairs rooms is not ideal. The lodge was just open the week before our stay so there was a lot of maintenance and restocking happening. There is one dining option at the lodge and it offers a very limited and expensive range of options. The food was okay but not for the cost. The nearest food is 45 minutes away. If you do bring your own food there are no microwaves in room. The breakfast and lunch option is worse and the service is not good. I’m hoping that the limited options are due to the recent reopening for the season but that doesn’t justify the prices for food. I guess they have no problem taking advantage of people being so remote. The views from the rooms are spectacular and the night sky is amazing! Also being in the park enables you to really spend time doing the great hikes and tours. So yes the lodge is old and dated but the location can’t be beat! It’s too bad that food is costly and limited and the staff left a lot to be desired service wise."

"Very nice historical hotel. Food is excellent! Great salad, chicken pot pie and filet mignon. Rooms are very nice, the shower area is a little tight. Beds are comfortable and nice towels."

"This is such a classic spot in Durango. Right on the river, you can feel the history when you walk in. The staff are friendly, and the restaurant serves delicious meals. A little pricey at times, but worth it!"
