"We stayed here because it was close to the event we were attending. The staff were friendly and helpful. I liked the "quiet time" from 10pm to 7am. Our room was spacious and comfortable, but it needed to be vacuumed a little better as I found a pin and a couple of other small things on the carpet when we first entered the room. The restaurant was good, but given that we only ate breakfast there, I really couldn't comment on the quality of food. I really appreciated that there was absolutely no noise from the casino. As for the casino, we had to walk through part of it to catch the shuttle bus to our event, and I had to get rid of a full bottle of water in order to enter the casino. I have mobility issues, and use a cane, so walking through the casino was the shortage route for me. As we were dressed in formal wedding attire, it was likely we were not going to be staying in the casino....i know there are rules about outside beverages and food being brought in, but this seemed excessive."
Viscount Gort Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Front desk staff was able to eventually arrange for my early check in. I had called ahead twice to make sure this would work based on flight arrival and was told ok, but encountered some initial issues that my room is not available. Once I insisted, front desk was able to arrange it, so it worked out. One of the elevators was out of service during my two nights, so it was a bit of a pain to wait for the one operational elevator for the whole hotel. Room was clean and modern, but I found that there was no table to sit at to use a laptop, there was only a coffee table and a single sofachair to use, so that was somewhat inconvenient and had to sit on the bed to do my computerwork. The one thing that was excellent was the restaurant on the second floor - the staff were very pleasant and both the lunch and breakfast tasted great and were very reasonable. That saved me a ton of trouble with looking for food to have for meals. Shuttle was available for pick up/drop to airport, but do be aware, the driver was not about to help with your luggage to load into the van. It felt very awkward with him standing waiting for me to load my own luggage both on the pick up/return. Perhaps he needs some coaching from the hotel on what he has to do. Overall however, I found the hotel stay and experience to be good, and if my comments get read by management, those little things if fixed can make the experience almost perfect."
