"Needlessly complicated check in process - why did I have to supply my ID? There is no UK legal requirement for this and most places don't do it. The booking app has my details if anything goes wrong. My room (6) was in a dark lower basement, not listed as such. I asked for upstairs room which was available but it did not have a cooking stove. "I am extremely disappointed with my stay and feel that the accommodation provided fell far below the standard that was advertised and paid for. Upon arrival, I was allocated a completely different room from the one I had booked. The room I received was outdated, poorly maintained, excessively hot, and had a strong smell of urine. It was not the room I expected and did not represent the accommodation shown at the time of booking. The property's facilities were also not available as advertised. The steam room and jacuzzi were out of order for the entirety of my stay, yet no prior notification was given before arrival. These facilities were part of the reason I chose this hotel, and their unavailability significantly impacted my experience. Most concerning was the lack of hot water throughout my stay. As a paying guest, I expect basic amenities such as access to hot water for showering. Being unable to take a proper shower is unacceptable and demonstrates a serious failure in the standard of accommodation provided. Whenever issues were raised with reception, the response was dismissive and unhelpful. Staff appeared uninterested in resolving the problems or acknowledging the inconvenience caused. At no point did I feel that my concerns were taken seriously.The combination of being given the wrong room, the poor condition of the accommodation, the unpleasant smell, the lack of hot water, the unavailable spa facilities, and the poor customer service made this one of the worst hotel"

"The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained throughout my stay. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help with any questions I had. The hotel facilities were good, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing and enjoyable. The location was also convenient, just a five minute walk from the train station making it easy to get around and explore the area."

"The room was very spacious and clean. No fridge, fan or usb points. Lovely big balcony. Staff on reception desk were helpful. Drinks at the bar were expensive. Breakfast was ok, but the hot food was burnt and dried out by the time we got down there at 9.15 am, so we went down earlier the following day. A walk down the hill to restaurants, bars and the harbour."

"Really good views and very nice staff. Hotel is slightly outside the centre of Torquay but is walkable in about 20 minutes. The restaurant was unfortunately very poor; our first evening we were unable to have our full meal due to “technical difficulties”. The second evening we waited 30 minutes to order even drinks and then there were multiple errors with the order; they did at least give us a discount. Not really value for money."

"Firstly, £15 a day for the privilege of parking at the hotel and it’s on a first come first serve basis, is more the norm now bits it’s appalling, if you go out your not guaranteed your spot once returned. Tv didn’t work until I asked twice for it to be sorted and the fridge didn’t work and didn’t get sorted. However, it’s a lovely new/clean and well designed hotel. Comfy bed, lovely on suite and a great location for Paignton and close by Torquay. Overall we would go again!"
