"Based on reviews we read prior to staying here, we were excited about staying here! We originally were taken to room with a broken air conditioner, broken fan, had not been dusted recently, & was stifling hot due to it being on the 2nd floor after a hot day. We returned to the front desk and they gave us another room on the opposite side where the heat was just as oppressive but they said had a new air conditioner. We ran the AC and opened the one narrow window but there was no cross-ventilation. We were unable to get it cooled down so we asked for a fan which was provided & we "made due" in spite of one fan leg being broken. Finally after midnight the room was cool enough to sleep somewhat comfortably. Beds were very soft without much support but if we slept in the middle of them, we didn't feel like we'd roll off the edge. This room was clean at least. We suspect if we'd stayed in a cabin we would have experienced more of the positive aspects we read in the 9/10 recommendations in the reviews. BUT I would never suggest anyone stay upstairs in the lodge itself - very uncomfortable and unpleasant. The sauna was available but the hot tub had a sign saying it was shut down for cleaning...not that we wanted any heat from either of them! Our primary complaint was that we didn't feel our needs were taken seriously or that our comfort mattered to management & that they simply collected the fees for our night's stay. We will not be returning."
"When we got there to check in we were greeted the manager gave us an upgrade but when we got to the upgraded room we seen the lamp shade was broken I then tried turning on the heater that didn’t stay on later I was packing my clothes into the drawer and one of thw knobs on the dresser drawer was broken as well honestly my last stay at this motel a better experience then this stay I hope they know this was a room they should never rent out to anyone ever again til it’s fixed everything else was good but this room was not ready from the start and if I decide to get a room again I’m not going to take any upgrades cause I will get a crappy room "
"The vent in the bathroom didn't work. Breakfast was supposed to be from 7:00am to 9:00am. But by 8:00am it was all gone. Staff is not in the office most of the time. Slightly overpriced for what you get. But it is priced in the lower third of hotels in the town."
