I stayed at the Bayview ten years ago when it was a nicer place, I guess the pandemic deteriorated business. The attention paid to the customers, however, hasn’t changed a bit. "Overall a good place to stay. Nice and close to the historic district, with bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. Hotel was elderly with a few rough edges, but fine. Staff were friendly, and the laundry service was good. Internet service, though, was not great - spotty coverage, low speeds, and there was a complete outage for a couple of hours one day. Also, for the technically minded, you cannot establish an outgoing VPN connection - for some reason it is blocked."

"A hotel employee met us at the train and assisted us to the hotel. Check in was smooth and our room was clean and spacious. We had a view of the river and mountains. Breakfast was very good each day. The hotel location was a short walk to dining and shopping as well as near the bus station for Machu Picchu. My wife and I would gladly stay here again. I have to make a point to say EVERY staff member we dealt with was gracious and friendly. "
