Budget Hotels in New Providence Island

"Staff is nice and property is well maintained. Now for everything else 1) The worst shuttle services I have ever experienced. The shuttle was almost 2 hours late, and I think they only came because my mom called them (my cell service was not working so I was unable to call). This made me feel very unsafe and anxious as a solo female traveler. Book a private shuttle through viator or arrange for a taxi but NEVER through this hotel. They offered no compensation or anything for this. Terrible. 2) My room did not have a do not disturb placard like the other rooms, which normally wouldn't be a problem BUT the cleaning staff kept taking my towels that were HANGING UP when they were only supposed to take towels on the ground. Then I had to request new towels each time which took 1-2 HOURS. The towels were always warm so I am guessing the hotel does not have enough towels, so they have wash them before they can replace any of them. 3) There is a shack near the pool the serves snacks and drinks that is supposed to open until 7 pm. It's not advertised but they stop serving food at 5 pm. Luckily the kind staff still made me food after 5 pm. HOWEVER, when there was a change in staff, no one was there after 4 pm and it was randomly closed at 5 pm. Nearby restaurants charge like 33% more for already overpriced drinks. 4) My room partially flooded after a storm and it took about an hour for the staff to start cleaning and an hour to finish. Couldn't sleep in or relax like I planned."

"Beautiful hotel with excellent amenities and easy access to shops, dining and attractions. We enjoyed the private beach and pools with towel service and great views of cruise ships arriving/departing daily. They also have karaoke night on Wednesdays and a live jazz band on Thursdays. Had a wonderful stay!"

"The beach was beautiful and the food was good, but other than that, there isn’t much else going on. The only night time entertainment is the same guy singing the same songs every night. The “night club” was virtually empty, there wasn’t even a bartender down there to serve you a drink. The drinks also seem to be very watered down. I don’t know if we were just there at a bad time, but we were incredibly bored with the exception of 2 nights. Unless you’re someone who just wants something cheap to spend all your time on the beach or at the pool, then I wouldn’t recommend this place."

"The hotel itself is not in a great condition (the hallways are very smelly), but it’s clean and the access to Atlantis is worth it! The breakfast is great, nice variety and lots of tables by the pool."

"This was my second experience at Baha Mar and possibly last. Overall It was a good stay with some very noticeable issues. First night our bed frame was rocky which provided for an unrestful night but was fixed the next day. That should have been noticed when the room was being prepared. This time I noticed unwarranted attitudes in a couple of ur eateries like pizza lab and Starbucks by the staff. Some of the staff displayed attitudes that really soured the mood. They acted as if they had a problem working or something just uncalled for. In the pizza lab they overlooked our pizza order and then tried to lie to the manager about what actually happened. However the manager apologized and offered the pizza for free. Also there were attitudes in the little convenient store next to Starbucks. When in the waterfall swim up bar pool area there was a noticeable difference in treatment by one server as far as service between people of color like myself and the white customers. Almost like we didn’t exist really discouraging. Your room towels could be a little softer instead of abrasive to the skin. Baha Mar is a five star resort but didn’t quite feel as such this go round. Also this new service fee that’s added I guess is to assure tips for the servers but in some cases the lack of good customer service showed. I had a great first experience and went back to the states bragging about how great of an experience. But this time Im not sure what to say."
