There is a nice area to walk with lighted paths near the hotel. Fountains and pretty trees. Several restaurants and shopping in the area.

Stoney Creek Hotel Des Moines - Johnston
Clean room, great atmosphere and excellent staff. Room was clean and no gross “hotel” smell. The only thing negative is we had a jet tub room and we had no hot water to enjoy it. The shower had no hot water either, along with no water pressure.

Des Lux Hotel
This hotel is so beautiful. It feels so lux and fancy cut very approachable and welcoming. The rooms are plush and cozy (and clean.) The staff is friendly and professional and rhe amenities are very nice.
