"What a great find in Winster. The Brown Horse Pub did not disappoint. We stayed in the external King room ( non pet) and it was lovely, clean and tidy with daily housekeeping. The bed was very comfortable and plenty of tea and coffee supplied with biscuits 😀. The private patio was a bonus with great views. The cooked breakfast was absolutely delicious and cooked fresh, with plenty of choices. Plus you also got continental breakfast additions of fruit, yogurt, cereal selection, juice, pastries that were warm , fresh bread for brown and white toast, lovely fresh coffee and tea. The main dinner menu had a great selection, and accommodated to all. We dinned in each night instead of going into Windermere, that’s how nice the food was. A good selection of beer and wines plus spirits in the bar . The staff, well they were all first class! Friendly, helpful and always smiling. What’s not to like about this pub, beautiful inside with wooded beams and comfortable seating. Outside with plenty of garden seating and the view was amazing. We will return here and we cannot recommend The Brown Horse Pub enough. Just a note : The pub is dog friendly and there are the woodland Pods at the rear of the Pub ( but we did not look at those) Stayed in External Room 7 from 22.09.2025 to 26.09.2025 "

"The room was lovely and spacious. There was no view outbof the window as the hotel is being extended. The staff were helpful and did everything they could to make our stay as pleasant and comfortable as they could. Helen and Chloe were particularly good and always made us feel welcome. "

"I had the most wonderful 2-night stay at Pine Lake Resort, and I can’t recommend it highly enough! From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and relaxed. The setting is absolutely breathtaking – the lake views are serene, and the grounds are beautifully maintained, creating the perfect escape from everyday life. My accommodation was spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully designed for comfort. The bed was so cozy, and I slept incredibly well both nights. I also appreciated the little details that made the stay extra special – from the warm hospitality of the staff to the amenities that made everything feel effortless. What stood out most was how peaceful and restorative the atmosphere was. Whether I was enjoying a walk by the lake, relaxing in the resort facilities, or simply sitting with a coffee and taking in the scenery, I felt completely recharged. The staff were friendly, attentive. Overall, Pine Lake Resort is a gem. My only regret is that they don’t allow pets. I’m already looking forward to arranging my next visit."
